The Friends of King’s College, established in 1955, is a volunteer organisation that assists the College, fosters a strong sense of community between parents, and supports the school in its many endeavours.

The Friends embraces the College’s future development and provides ongoing opportunities to enhance the experience of all students during their time at King’s.

All King’s College parents are members of The Friends. Joining the Friends Executive Committee or volunteering at the College is a great way to meet other parents and get involved in both social and fundraising activities.

King’s College is very fortunate to have a group of dedicated parents and guardians who support us by volunteering their time across a range of activities organised by The Friends.

Each family pays a small annual subscription to assist the Friends programme. Taking a more active part in the committees, activities or attending one of the popular events is a great way to meet new people and make new friends in the wider King’s Community.

Various sub committees oversee different fundraising initiatives as well as programmes to support our students through work in the library, assistance as exam readers and writers, selling in the tuck shop, and the second hand uniform shop.

The annual King’s College Art Sale each November has been running for more than ten years and is the biggest fundraiser organised by the Friends. Other events helping to raise money include the Headmaster’s Garden Party, Golf Day and the annual Ladies Lunch.

Each year The Friend’s Executive Committee approves funding requests from the College – from sports equipment right through to major facility developments.
