On September 11th, Te Pūtake Lodge gave back to the community and the environment by planting trees along the Whau River catchment area.

On the day, we all stripped weeds off a very steep bank by a stream in Titorangi leading into the Whau River, then started to plant some beautiful Kanuka trees along the bank. Te Pūtake students and their families got to bond with each other while giving back to the environment. It was a beautiful Sunday and a great way to spend our time - everyone who participated enjoyed the day.  Over 80 of the Te Pūtake students, Parents and Staff contributed, planting hundreds of trees along the river for the Whau River Trust, and thanks must be given to Volunteering Auckland for supporting the opportunity.
