The E Tū Whānau Rangatahi Film Awards are a celebration of rangatahi (youth) filmmaking. Waka’s is a national award, and his film For My Brother will screened at the Māoriland Film Festival in Wellington last week.
Uncannily, Waka's mum won the same award 14 years ago. Well done, Waka!
