The medals were awarded by Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy at an investiture ceremony at Government House on Tuesday.

Head of Hockey Jude Menezes says Rick has been instrumental in providing a platform for many of our girls to achieve higher representative honours.
"We in the King's hockey community are extremely proud and would like to congratulate Rick and Sheryl on their well-deserved awards," Jude says.
Rick and Sheryl have two sons, Simon Child (Greenbank, 2003-05) and Marcus Child (Greenbank, 2004-08), who are both New Zealand hockey internationals.
