The Grand Opening Organ Concert, which took place in the Great Hall on Thursday 7 March, was a huge success and an exciting night for music lovers.

Performing in front of a packed house, organists Paul Chan (King’s College) and Michael Bell (King’s School), together with the combined forces of King’s College Chapel Choir, Kappella, All The King’s Men and The Graduate Choir NZ, gave a wonderful recital of organ and choral music, dating from the Baroque to the present day.

Many thanks go to Music teacher Chris Artley for his efforts to put on this show, the choir directors, Gina Sanders and Terence Maskell and Onosai Auva’a for hosting the night.

King’s College is most grateful to Old Collegian, Michael Flanagan, (Peart, 1951-55) who had the vision and generosity to donate this fabulous Rodgers Infinity Organ to the College.
