James achieved his goals of top 5 finishes at North Islands and top 10 finishes at Nationals in the Senior Boys events. His results were:
North Islands
Long Distance event: 3rd place
Sprint race: 4th place
Nationals
Long Distance event: 6th place
Sprint race: 9th equal
As the only competitor from Kings College, James also teamed up with two top runners from individual schools for the Senior Boys relay event at the Nationals as a composite team. Teaming up with Eddie Swain from Waimea College, Nelson and Riley Croxford from Motueka College. they had a great team run and were third fastest overall.
