The camp was to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate and evaluate their use of responsible behaviours in an outdoor education context tied to three Level one NCEA credits. This involved Mountain biking in the world renowned Whakarewarewa forest and Zip Lining across the Kaituna River and Tutea Falls.

Year 11 Student Lucia Iverson said "The year 11 NCEA level 1 PE classes went down to Rotorua for their adventure camp last week. Unfortunately the white water rafting got rained off and instead we went Zip Lining over the Kaituna River. Students said “it was fun because it was a different experience and they wouldn’t get the chance to do it again”.   There was also mountain biking across various terrains and difficulties in the Whakarewarewa Forest. Highlights of the trip from students were mountain biking through the Redwoods and racing in pairs down the zip-lines.
