Though cricket at King's has finished, it hasn't stopped some of boys representing us on the national stage at U17 & U19 levels.

Auckland U19 Dec 2019

Nathan Robinson (Year 13, Greenbank) and Muhammad Abbas (Year 12, Marsden) (pictured above) were selected for the Auckland U19 team and both performed well at the national tournament in late December.

Muhammad opened the bowling for most games and took 8 wickets in 7 matches; his best bowling was 3-30.

Nathan batted well; he played 7 matches, 6 innings, 4 Not Outs and an average of 53.5.

Furthermore, Auckland U19 won the tournament. Congratulations to both boys.

In the National U17 tournament we had four players represented in two different teams.

Achindra Molamure (Year 12, Averill) and Sebastian MacDonald (Year 12, Selwyn) were selected for Auckland U17 while Louis Anderson (Year 12, Selwyn) and Cory Dickson (Year 13, Averill) were selected for Northern Districts. The tournament was played in early January.

Achindra went well with the bat scoring 180 runs across the tournament with a very solid 89 against Canterbury. Sebastian was consistent with the ball with 3 wickets across the tournament and scored some handy lower order runs for the team.

Louis Anderson, although he didn’t get a lot of game time, gained some valuable experience down at the tournament and bowled well when given the opportunities.

Cory was a regular contributor with bat and ball for Northern Districts with 110 runs and 3 wickets.

Great effort for all the boys who took part and bodes well for seasons ahead with so many King’s cricketers playing at the next level.
