They heard from four remarkable women who, interviewed by Deputy Head Pedagogy Melissa Irving, spoke about topics relating to this year’s International Women’s Day theme: breaking the bias.
We were lucky to virtually welcome:
- EY Global Corporate Finance Woman of the Year Kate Gatfield-Jeffries (Middlemore, 2015-16), who has gone on to launch mental wellness brand Moodi,
- Old Collegian Jen Jones (Taylor, 2007-08) who runs project consulting business Nine Yards Consulting,
- Deputy Chair of the Board of Governors Vanessa Stoddart, who has held board roles for organisations including Global Women and the Financial Markets Authority and
- Professor Cathy Stinear, a neuroscientist and Chair of the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand’s Council.

Able to tune in from where she is self-isolating at home, Deputy Head Prefect Paris Wither said that she really enjoyed the session.
“I liked how there was a panel of women instead of just one as it gave more perspective,” she said.
