Quinn Grainger (Year 12, Parnell) scored King’s first goal in the 20th minute. Rangitoto College replied 3 minutes later. The score remained 1-1 until half time.
Just after the recommencement of the second half, Wilson Souphanthavong (Year 12, Marsden) was fouled just inside the Rangitoto penalty box and he confidently converted the penalty kick for King’s to lead 2-1.
Both teams had goal scoring attempts thwarted by good goalkeeping, with Patrick Maher (Year 12, School) having a strong performance in the King’s goal.
