Deena won the 2019 Play It Strange songwriting competition with her song 'A Normal Day', and won a day to record her song professionally.
She spent the day at Roundhead Studios with Adam Wong (Year 10, Marsden), Sam Brew (Year 12, Marsden), Tim Fowlie (Year 10, Averill), Head of Music, Performing Arts and Culture Emma Featherstone and Angus the sound engineer.
Earlier this year, the founder of Play It Strange, Mike Chunn, presented Deena with her award at the airport, where she and her fellow students were waiting to depart on a music tour.
