In his debut season, Year 13 student Billy Frazer (School) was last week officially crowned champion of the NZ Formula Ford Championship.

“This is a fantastic result for the team and I,” Billy said.

Billy won eight of his fifteen races, and finished on the podium in ten races.

The result of the championship was declared following the cancellation of the final race due to uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This season was certainly one I will never forget. It had many highlights. Winning two races at my first Supercar event at my home track, Pukekohe, was very special,” Billy said.

He also spent three weeks racing in the South Island over summer, winning meetings at Highlands and Teretonga.

Billy’s wins also meant that he participated in his first-ever press conferences, and was interviewed live on television.

As Billy’s Housemaster Robert Paterson says, “Billy is an outstanding ambassador for the College.”

Congratulations, Billy!
