Guest Speaker: Marty O'Halloran
Honorary Kiwi, Marty O’Halloran, is Global CEO of advertising’s most storied agency; DDB. Having started as a graduate at DDB Melbourne in 1986, Marty quickly rose up the ranks before being offered a role at DDB New Zealand – a move many helpful Aussies advised him would be career suicide.
Ignoring their advice, Marty started at DDB New Zealand in 1988 and rose to become CEO of the New Zealand operation. In 2005 he was appointed Australasian Chairman and CEO, becoming a rare breed of trans-Tasman CEO running the regional business from Auckland. In his time leading the trans-Tasman business, the Australian and New Zealand offices achieved frequent global recognition, becoming leading agencies in a network that spans more than 200 offices in more than 90 countries.
That success saw Marty being shoulder-tapped in July 2020 for the biggest role in advertising – CEO of DDB Worldwide, which has seen him lead the global business from his offices between New York and Auckland for the past year.
