The team of 11 students travelled to Mountford Park in Manurewa, ready to take on the competition. But with seven players fatigued having returned from Year 10 Camp the day before, the team had a challenging day of games ahead of them. However, the King's side proved to be too strong, winning their pool matches convincingly:

The squad then faced Rosehill College's A team in the finals of the tournament. There was added pressure as the team saw Dillon Vaoga leaving the field in the first play with an injured shoulder. A formidable defensive performance allowed King's to emerge victorious, winning 9 tries to 2. Special mention goes to co-captain Preston Broadhurst who scored 4 tries and was notified of his appointment in the Auckland U16 Touch Team at the end of the match.

As the reigning champions, there's a lot to play for but with the team's outstanding performance so far, they are in good shape to put up a strong fight. The College congratulates the King's Junior Touch Squad for their valiant effort and looks forward to their next tournament.
