Support King's College

The support of our community enables us to continue to offer the best education possible.

As a private college, we value our independence - and it is the philanthropic support of our wonderful donors and sponsors that allows us to ensure that this independence endures. The generosity of our community also allows us to offer a King’s education to many talented students who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

There are many ways you can support King’s: one-off gifts, ongoing donations, bequests, and by establishing or contributing to scholarships or bursaries. Find out more about these channels here.

Volunteer with the Friends

The Friends of King's College Association is the best avenue for parents and whānau to support the College and its students.

The Friends foster a strong sense of community and whanaungatanga, and are an integral and very valued part of King’s as a whole. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, volunteer, and meet other families.

Scholarship funding

It’s a privilege to award scholarships to students who demonstrate academic, sporting, or cultural excellence and potential - an opportunity made possible through the generous support of the wider King’s College community.

Our range of full and partial scholarships covers tuition and/or boarding, helping to open doors for talented young people from across Aotearoa. Many of our donors were once scholarship recipients themselves, a testament to the enduring strength of the King’s legacy.

Interested in establishing or supporting a scholarship? Please contact our Development team at development@kingscollege.school.nz.

Leave a gift in your will

Remembering King’s College in your will is a meaningful way to provide lasting support. Every bequest, no matter the size, plays a vital role in helping future generations of rangatahi (young people) thrive. Gifts can be directed toward a specific purpose (scholarships, bursaries, special funds, or facilities ) or left unrestricted, allowing the College to allocate support where it’s most needed.

By notifying us of your bequest, you may become eligible for membership in The King’s College Foundation, which includes invitations to special events.

Development campaigns at King’s

At King’s College, our leadership is always looking ahead - planning for the next phase of growth to ensure we continue delivering the highest quality education. Every new building or facility represents a vital investment in our students, offering them enhanced opportunities to discover their strengths, pursue their interests, and prepare for the future.

Our upcoming projects include upgrades to existing classrooms and the construction of innovative new learning spaces. These will be followed by the development of modern boarding houses designed to support student well-being and enhance our boarding experience for generations to come.

The King’s community is made up of Old Collegians, past parents, current parents, students, and staff. It is a group proud to celebrate success and excellence.

The school holds significance for many people and it continues to be a central hub for the connections made here. For more than a century, the King’s Courier has been the flagship communication within the King’s community. Today, it is mailed directly to more than 8,500 recipients three times per year.

Our digital versions of the Courier magazines receive on average 162,500 unique page views each year. The majority of the King’s Courier magazines are distributed to addresses in suburbs around the central Auckland area. Approximately half of these go to the suburbs of Remuera (24%), St Heliers (5%), Parnell (5%), Epsom (5%) and Mt Eden (3%).
