Girls at King's

The College provides an array of opportunities for our female students to succeed in academia, sports, arts and culture, and beyond.

Girls can attend King's for Years 11-13 as day or boarding students, accessing the quality and comprehensive senior education that the College provides.

Senior Learning Programme

By starting at Year 11 girls are able to partake in the College's bespoke Year 11 Academic Programme, followed by two years of National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) or Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) study.

We offer our students the choice to study NCEA, CIE or (on an individual basis) a combination of both. This means King’s is able to provide personalised learning pathways that allow every student to achieve their academic goals and give them the strongest possible foundation for their future.

A lifelong support network

Our House system underpins the positive, supportive culture at King’s and encourages our students to build strong relationships right across the College.

Middlemore House is home to all Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 boarding girls, while Taylor House and Marion Bruce House provide a connecting hub for all Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 day girls. Friendships developed at King’s are often enduring—a lasting network of friends and future colleagues.

We welcome enquiries for girls commencing at the College in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13, both as boarders and day students.

Leadership opportunities

Leadership development is key to the overall King’s experience. Our House system, the Chapel, and the many sporting teams and co-curricular groups all offer excellent opportunities for students to grow and develop themselves and their service to others.

The achievements of our Old Collegians are evidence that our King’s girls go on to become confident, articulate, respected leaders who are well prepared to take on leadership roles and drive progress in their chosen professions.
