Rocco was being trained to look after a young girl with autism.

Te Pūtake Lodge boys try to entice Rocco into the pool
He left the Lodge at the end of Term 2 to go and be with his new family, and we're pleased to let you know that he has now graduated as an assistance dog.
Te Pūtake Lodge Housemaster Mr Watts says, "Rocco is our second Lodge dog - last year we looked after Ranger. We keep the dogs from February to June as part of the dog's socialisation and training.
"The assistance dog trainer took Rocco away during the day to train him. In the evenings, the dog comes back to spend time with the boys after prep."
Rocco was known to wander around the common room letting the boys stroke him and play with him, and in the weekends, the boys would take him out for a walk.
