Wednesday 20 May 2026
On Tuesday 19 May the Spark Arena stage was set for some amazing performances for Big House Music 2026.
The opening House Averill set the tone for the evening with a strong rendition of Candy by Robbie Williams and the energy was maintained throughout the evening with Taylor House closing out the night with a colourful Let's Get Loud performance.
Beloved MCs for the night - Onosai Auvaa, King's School Chaplain and Reverend Gareth Walters - kept the crowd engaged and the student singers and band members shone during their well-rehearsed, polished choreography with their family members and fellow students cheering them on.
Winners on the night were Marion Bruce who took out both the Big House and the Overall House Music title. Greenbank came in second for Big House and Overall with Major taking out third place in Big House.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in such a fantastic evening - the hard work and talent of our students was certainly showcased at Spark. Special thanks to Emma Featherstone and the Performing Arts Team, Gary Burton and Glenn Howell.

Marion Bruce
Great pocket playing from the rhythm section. Drummer your count in was clear and made it easy for everyone to know when to come in. What’s a show - you absolutely deserve a huge round of applause for this one. Flautists, that was insane! You took this performance to another level. Choreography, vocals and costumes were 10/10. Dance break was everything, this was such a fun and enjoyable performance to watch.
Greenbank
Beautiful energy from the choir and choreography was really tight. Band you played your parts well and very correctly. A stunning performance. The band intro was beautifully executed and the choir worked well with the band. Vocal harmonies were impressive, as was the choreography. Shout out to the alto and keys players. Well done everyone.
Major
Great song choice and the band intro was really effective with sax solo! Good Choreography that considered the lyric. This whole performance was brilliant. I can’t pinpoint any one aspect because every element was polished and professional. Amazing work - especially the ensemble vocals. Such a good song choice.
Averill
Great performance guys!! Awesome energy and really tidy choreography. Great story telling. Slick entrance and choreography. Loved seeing the Year 9s come forward… A polished performance full of energy and fun. Really enjoyed this one.
Middlemore
Thank you for a well choreographed and prepared performance. Band cool intro with beautiful flute. Absolutely stunning choreography - you were slick and well disciplined. Such professionalism! Shout out to the flautist for setting the scene with some excellent playing. This was energetic, polished and entertaining.
Marsden
Love the key change it helped keep your audience engaged. Band playing was really tidy which really helped your choir know where the song was. Really nice trumpet playing. A well-structured performance with lots of variety. Good energy and everyone was committed. Really liked the costuming and story line.
