It is our pleasure to share news from the Boarding side of King's College, with long service recognised and a new appointment made.
At the New Zealand Boarding Schools Conference, Housemaster of St John’s Daryl Williams and Housemaster of Parnell Harry Wichman were both recognised with awards for their service to Boarding which stretches 24 years for Daryl and 25 for Harry: 12 years at King’s and 13 years at Mount Albert Grammar School.
The awards were presented by Jon McDowall, Chairman of the New Zealand Boarding Schools Association and Deputy Rector of St Bede’s in Christchurch.
We’re also delighted to announce that Housemaster of Selwyn and Teacher of PE and Social Studies Kevin Putt has been appointed King’s College Boarding Coordinator.
This role is tasked with developing Boarding at King's, supporting Boarding Housemasters and Staff through process and practice, and ensuring we are using best practices consistently throughout each Boarding House. We look forward to seeing Kevin support our Boarding cohort, which numbers more than 300.
