Held at the Fiber Fresh National Equestrian Centre in Taupō, our Premier Equestrian team of six riders represented the College at the 2026 North Island Secondary Schools (NISS) Equestrian Cup.
Competing in a massive field of approximately 450 riders across Dressage, Show Jumping, Arena Eventing, and Show Hunter, our students as always, demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship.

Day One (Dressage)
Battling gale-force westerly winds, all riders put in solid opening performances. Faris Aweidah (Year 9, Greenbank) completed his first school event on his new horse, while Olivia Tongue (Year 13, Middlemore) and Coco Huggins (Year 12, Marion Bruce) both secured second place in their respective classes.
Day Two (Dressage & Arena Eventing)
Momentum built quickly with Olivia and Coco Huggins both taking out first place, and Coco Fougere (Year 12, Marion Bruce) securing second place. Faris made a fantastic debut in Arena Eventing, placing 14th out of 40 riders!
Day Three (Show Jumping)
Stepping up to compete at heights up to 1.25 metres in an intensely competitive field, our experienced jumping team (Coco Fougere, Olivia, Monty Alderton (Year 11, Averill), and Yun Fan (Year 12, Parnell)) pushed through fatigue, despite a few unlucky dropped rails.
Day Four (Show Jumping & Show Hunter)
Demonstrating great resilience, the team rebounded with a fantastic final push, and Olivia gained 2nd place, Yun Fan claimed 3rd place, and Monty secured 5th place in their second show jumping classes!
