Twelve King’s College students proudly represented the College at this year’s College Youth Games on Saturday 4 July, competing across the Open RX, Rookie Girls, and Rookie Boys divisions in an exciting day of functional fitness competition.
It was an early start, with students arriving before sunrise, but from the very first event to the final workout of the afternoon, they competed with energy, determination and a positive attitude. Every athlete pushed themselves outside their comfort zone, encouraged their teammates through each challenge, and never gave up, even when the workouts became increasingly demanding.
While the event tested the athletes’ strength, endurance, and mental toughness, it was the positive attitude and genuine support they showed for one another that stood out most. Whether competing, cheering on teammates, or embracing every challenge with determination, our students represented King’s College with pride, humility, and respect.
The College was represented by four teams:
● Fast & Furious 3 (Open RX): Harvey Kitt-Reeve (Year 12, St John's), Lachlan Wong (Year 12, St John's) and Ronan Tam (Year 13, School).
● The Big 3 (Rookie Girls): Immy Linton (Year 12, Middlemore), Kira Jacob (Year 12, Marion Bruce) and Lily Rupapera (Year 12, Middlemore)
● The Third Wheel (Rookie Girls): Hunter Taylor (Year 13, Taylor), Leah Walsh (Year 13, Taylor), and Sienna Gormly (Year 12, Marion Bruce)
● Master’s Minions (Rookie Boys): Tate Chong (Year 13, Greenbank), Te Hiringatahi Ramanui (Year 13, Marsden), and Finn Holdsworth (Year 11, St John's)
A special thank you goes to both Mr Chong Luo, for supervising and assisting in the preparation of our students leading up to the competition, and to Mr John Cummins for volunteering to support our students on the day.
Congratulations to all twelve athletes for the commitment and perseverance that they showed during the competition as well as the outstanding way they represented King’s College.
