Tough Guy, Tough Girl Challenge

Students Compete in the Auckland Tough Girl/Guy Competition

Thursday 14 August 2025

Early in Term 3, our Year 12 Physical Education students had the chance to compete in the Auckland Tough Girl/Guy Competition. The students were joined by almost 2000 other secondary school students from around Auckland as they took on the 6km course. This year saw poor weather in the earlier races, and this meant that the course was even more muddy than normal. Despite the challenging conditions, our students did well, with many securing fast times for the aligned internal assessment.

A special congratulations must go to our King’s College girls who were named as the 4th 'toughest' in Auckland based on their collective placings in the team’s/school’s events.

We must also acknowledge Saffron Moaveni (Year 12, Marion Bruce), who finished the course in an impressive 30 minutes and 40 seconds to claim second place in the senior girls’ competition.
