Using our School Counselling Services

Thursday 20 March 2025

At the College, we believe in fostering a supportive environment where our students feel empowered to seek help when they need it. Our proactive school counselling services are designed to provide early support for students who may be experiencing challenges or overwhelming feelings.

We understand that life can become overwhelming at times, and it's essential for students to know that they don't have to navigate their feelings alone. By encouraging open conversations about mental health and normalising access to counselling, we aim to empower our students to see seeking help as a strength rather than a weakness.

We invite parents to actively participate in this journey. If you notice your child struggling with their emotions, social interactions, or academic pressures, we encourage you to refer them to our counselling team. Alternatively, students are also encouraged to self-refer whenever they feel the need. Seeking support early can significantly impact their wellbeing and academic success.

How to Refer Your Child:

  • Log into Schoolbox and click on the "Counsellors" button.
  • Complete the Student Referral Form provided.
  • Submit the form, and our counselling team will reach out to support your child.

It's vital to reassure students that they have control over their counselling experience and know that confidentiality is a key component of our work. They have the choice of who they meet with, when they attend sessions, and how frequently they wish to engage with a counsellor. A simple first step - like trying just one session - can lead to meaningful support and tools to manage their mental health.

If you have any questions about the counselling services or need assistance with the referral process, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we can ensure our students feel supported and understood.

Thank you for your continued partnership in promoting wellbeing.
