Held on Saturday 20 June in Trentham, Wellington, during atrocious weather conditions including strong 50-knot winds, rain, mud and a rapidly rising creek, the fastest way down one hill was to slide down on your backside — especially in the Senior Girls race! It was what some would consider to be a real old-fashioned cross-country course.
Giacomo Wong (Year 9, St John's) and Tom Vickery (Year 10, School) were the King’s standout runners alongside other fantastic performances from our students. Results are listed below:
Year 9 Boys 3km - 114 Finishers
- Giacomo Wong: 14th - 11.02 (2nd Aucklander to finish)
- Dhevaan Mehta (Year 9, School): 59th - 11.56.30
Year 9 Boys Relay 4 x 2km - 11 Finishing Teams
- Giacomo Wong: 6.46 for first leg and Auckland A team 2nd
Junior Boys 4km - 139 Finishers
- Tom Vickery: 14th -14.19 (6th Aucklander to finish)
Senior Girls 4km - 117 Finishers
- Charlie Fong (Year 11, Marion Bruce): 50th - 17.19 (13th Aucklander to finish)
- Lucia Dawkins (Year 11, Taylor): 71st - 18.01 (19th Aucklander to finish)
Senior Boys 6km - 193 Finishers
- Sam Rickerby (Year 13, Peart): 36th - 21.50 (10th Aucklander to finish)
- Luca Henderson (Year 12, Major): 151st - 25.15
