Our talented netballers recently arrived home after a great pre-season Premier Netball tour to Sydney.
The week involved a good mix of netball, training and a bit of exploring too. The students had several games against local schools (Abbotsleigh, Pymble Ladies College and Barker College), and it was amazing to see how much they developed across the week, both in confidence and how they connected as a team.
Players were lucky enough to spend some time with the NSW Swifts netball team again this year and highlights included a coaching session with Silver Fern and Swifts player Grace Nweke, watching the Swifts play live and attending one of their private training sessions where the girls got to meet the players. This was a very special experience and definitely a standout for many.
There was plenty of training alongside this as well – sessions with Head of Netball Leah Salt, Athlete Development Coach Hayato Yoneto and Swifts Assistant Coach Dylan Nexhip, plus some run by our captains, who did a great job of stepping into a leadership role. Pilates and hill sprints kept everyone on their toes as well.
Off the court, the team made the most of being in Sydney – trips to Manly and Bondi, exploring the city centre, the Easter Show, ferry rides, markets, and of course shopping! Now we can't wait for the netball season to start where we can put all these experiences to use on the court!
