Our Athletics team shone last weekend winning five medals and also achieving 12 personal best results, two season best results and three new school records at the National Secondary Schools Athletics Championships held in Hastings.
- Ollie Anderson (Year 11, Greenbank) won a silver medal in the Senior Boys 100m, also setting a new school record,
- Gemma Smith (Year 12, Taylor) won silver in the Senior Girls 300m Hurdles, setting a new PB and school record for this event,
- Sam Rickerby (Year 12, Peart) won silver in the Senior Boys 2000m Steeplechase, setting a PB,
- Jetta McKenzie (Year 12, Marion Bruce) won bronze in the Senior Girls 100m Hurdles, a PB for her, and
- Robbie Tahi (Year 10, St John’s) won bronze in the Junior Boys 200m, setting PBs both in that race and the Junior Boys 100m.
Gemma Smith and Sam Rickerby were also named in the 'Team of the Meet'.
