On Wednesday last week, we had a very successful baking day at the College. With our expert Food and Beverage Manager Paul Stanton supervising proceedings, students combined their maths skills with baking expertise to create a delicious result with the cheese scones looking and tasting amazing. Students were demonstrating the principles of respect (Ngākau Māhaki) and cooperation (Mahi Kotahitanga) in their collaborative work.
Through the process, they used mathematics to purchase and price the scones, make the scones by following the recipe and then clean up the kitchen space they had used. Finally, students wrote a reflection of what they had holistically learnt.
Well done everyone involved in this practical project, it was fantastic to see everyone working together and enjoying themselves while they created the final product.
