King’s Rowing Triumphs at the 2025 Maadi Cup

The King’s College Rowing Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Maadi Cup, held at Lake Karapiro.

With several crews securing national titles or podium finishes, and many others achieving strong placements in highly competitive fields, this year’s results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our athletes and coaching staff.

The Boys U18 8+ finished 5th in the prestigious Maadi Cup race, missing out on a podium spot by just two seconds behind Christ’s College. This impressive result highlights the potential of this young crew.

Girls U18 Coxed Quad Sculls
A historic performance saw our U18 Girls Quad Scull secure a 5th-place finish - the first time King’s College has rowed in this final in 12 years.

Historic Trophy Wins

King’s College made history by winning two prestigious trophies at the regatta:

Star Trophy
Awarded to the Overall Champion School at the Maadi Regatta. This marks the first time an Auckland school has ever won this title.

Executive Trophy
Recognising King’s College as the Champion Sweep Oar Rowing Secondary School.

Representative Trialists
We are also proud to announce that five of our rowers have been selected to trial for the North Island Under 18 team during the upcoming school holidays:
