The King’s College Equestrian team has once again proven their excellence with a stellar performance at the recent North Island Secondary Schools (NISS) Dressage Championships, held at St Peter’s School in Cambridge.
The team, led by captain Lexi Hope (Year 13, Taylor) riding Etoile la Lune, delivered an exceptional set of results. Lexi and teammate Morgan Abel-Pattinson (Year 13, Taylor) riding Don Tobio, both won their respective classes, while Olivia Tongue (Year 12, Middlemore) on Redcliffs Fortunate One and Samantha Sutherland (Year 11, Taylor) riding Secret Runner each placed in the top 10 in both of their classes.
These impressive individual performances secured King’s the overall school prize - an outstanding achievement in a highly competitive field!
This victory continues an unbroken winning streak for King’s Equestrian this year, a remarkable testament to the team’s hard work, discipline, and passion for the sport.
This event also marks a bittersweet moment as Morgan Abel-Pattinson completed her last competition for King’s College. Morgan’s contributions have been immense, and her partnership with her horse Toby has been nothing short of inspirational. Her professionalism, poise, and quiet strength in the arena will be deeply missed.
We are incredibly proud of our riders and thank them for representing the College with such distinction during the equestrian season.
