The Career Liaison Team plays a very important role in the College as these students help to deepen the connection between King’s Careers and individual students within each House.
They help to facilitate communication with their House members and especially their Year 13 peers by making announcements at House meetings, advertising and promoting career events on House social media platforms, encouraging students to engage and participate in career development career meetings or assessments, and to attend developmental workshops offered by King’s Careers.
Our Career Liaison students also play a major part in the planning and implementation of King’s Careers events such as the flagship event Tertiary Options and Careers Expo Evening - held on 14 May this year - for senior students and parents in Term 2, and the lunchtime presentations programme. A separate event for Australian universities is also being planned for June 2024.
King’s Careers and the Career Liaison Team will work hard to achieve our stated goals which are:
- To boost College-wide communication and student participation in career and employability events and services
- To strengthen student engagement and participation with a keen focus on Year 13 school leavers
- To bring the student voice to the fore in the design and delivery of career developmental services including invited guest speakers; and
- To deepen the connection between King’s Careers, the Houses and the student body.
We are very grateful to our Career Liaison Team and look forward to working with them throughout the year.
