King’s Netball was proud to host the Independent Schools Netball Quad Tournament for the first time since its inception in 2023. The tournament brings together Scots College, St Paul's Collegiate, and St Peter's Cambridge with the purpose of identifying and developing future Premier players, while also nurturing friendships, resilience, and a genuine sense of belonging through quality competition.
Our girls represented King’s with immense pride and were outstanding ambassadors for our school throughout the tournament. From the outset, we believed we had a squad capable of achieving something special, and today they delivered a historic milestone by securing King's first-ever game win after 15 straight losses. It was an iconic and emotional moment in the final game as the team demonstrated exceptional grit, determination, and composure. Their commitment to one another, combined with their ability to execute their game plans with precision and confidence, made for a truly memorable performance.
As hosts, we were also proud to elevate the tournament experience by placing student voice at the heart of both the Formal Dinner and the Prizegiving. A special mention goes to Te Aorangi Stewart (Year 11, Middlemore), whose confident and heartfelt use of te reo Māori during the Formal Dinner was warmly received and reflected the mana and values of our school community.
Our manuhiri departed with wonderful memories of their time at King's, expressing their gratitude for the warm hospitality, outstanding organisation, and welcoming environment that was created throughout the weekend.
A heartfelt congratulations and thank you to our Director of Netball for the countless hours of planning, leadership, and dedication invested in delivering an exceptional tournament. Her passion and commitment ensured the event was not only a success on the court but also an experience that reflected the very best of King's College.
Overall, the tournament was a wonderful celebration of sport, sportsmanship, and community. We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to making this year's Quad Tournament such a memorable and successful occasion.
