House Tennis - Starting the Year With a Bang!

Tuesday 3 February 2026

Quite literally starting our House Tennis competition on the first day of school saw our Houses forming teams and giving some students their first taste of our inter-House competitions. There were some fantastic matches as the students brought talent and intensity to the courts.

Day One – Thursday 29 January

  • St John's vs Parnell - winner St John's
  • Major vs Peart - winner Major
  • Greenbank vs School - winner Greenbank

Day Two – Friday 30 January

  • Averill vs St Johns - winner Averill
  • Marsden vs Selwyn - winner Marsden

These two matches were tight but congratulations went to Averill and Marsden who successfully made it to our finals day on Sunday.

Day Three - Semi -Finals and Finals Day – Sunday 1 February

Semi-Finals

  • Averill vs Marsden - winner Marsden
  • Major vs Greenbank - winner Major

Henry Dyke, Thomas Nand, Lachlan Tanhe, Samaara Robin, William Nand, Declan Tanhe, Alex Young, Sam McKellar

On a sweltering sunny Sunday afternoon Marsden and Major successfully won their semi-final match ups and after a well-deserved water break went on to play in the House Tennis Final.

Games were tight and the talent was impressive in both these teams. Two matches were decided on tie-breaks which then saw Major House crowned as our 2026 House Tennis Champions. Congratulations!

A big thank you to all the Housemasters, House prefects and the players for all the organisation that went into the tournament over the three match days and thank you also to the parents who came along and supported our tennis players on the day.
