House Sailing Results

Wednesday 7 May 2025

The House sailing fleet competed at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club at the end of Term 1. Conditions were nearly perfect, with a dying offshore breeze and calm seas. Four races were sailed, with each House racing in three, and the points they acquired across all their races deciding the final result.

School House were consistently strong, never falling below a third-place finish. Peart and Major started even stronger with first- or second-place finishes in their opening runs. With School House having sailed their three races already, both Peart and Major were in a position to claim the overall victory in the final race.

In that exciting final race, although Peart crossed the line behind Selwyn, who found their strongest performance of the day in the final race, Peart’s point tally gave them the win overall. School House’s consistent sailing put them second, and Major, falling behind at the end, had to settle for third.

Well done to everyone who competed on the water!

The final placings were: Peart (1st), School (2nd), Major (3rd), Selwyn (4th), Parnell (5th), St. Johns (6th), Greenbank (7th), Marsden (8th).
