Parent Teacher Interviews
We welcomed parents of our new Year 9 students to the College last week for our first round of parent teacher interviews. The number of parents who attended was exceptionally high and a sign of the value attached to the home – school partnership. Having students present at the interviews was worthwhile, removing any grey areas and allowing for next steps to be discussed. For parents who have not yet registered for the upcoming Year 10 interviews, please ensure you do so before the deadline this Monday 9 March.
Summer Sports
It has been a pleasure to see a range of King’s students competing across the summer sports codes on offer. The Premier Boys’ Touch team currently tops the table, and our Girls' Touch team finished second in the Senior Grade in their first year back in the competition for some time.
The First XI Cricketers face a top of the table clash against Auckland Grammar School on Saturday, and our Rowers have a packed regatta at the North Island Secondary School Championships at Lake Karapiro this weekend. Water Polo and Tennis matches have been in action at multiple venues across Auckland with some stellar performances, highlighting the talent representing King’s this year. Winter sports communications are being released to parents, with the College working on improved consistency in how we share this information with parents.
Upcoming Events
We have lots of events coming up in the next couple of weeks. Our Open Day is this Sunday where we are looking forward to hosting potential students and their families, showing them around the campus and highlighting what a King's education looks like.
Next Friday 13 March we have an important fundraiser with our Friends Golf Day being held at the Windross Golf Farm championship course. This promises to be a fun and exciting event with some incredible prizes up for grabs. We are very grateful to our sponsors for the day including our gold sponsor Gull and silver sponsor PPS Mutual.
