The Friends’ Ladies Spring Dinner
The Friends Ladies Spring Dinner at Bivacco was a resounding success and a tangible reminder of the strength of our King's College community. It was particularly great to meet some of our incoming parents, and to chat with a few who had taken the opportunity to meet fellow King’s parents for the first time. My thanks to The Friends’ Committee for organising such a great event, and to our principal sponsor, Orsini Fine Jewellery, for their support.
Exam preparation
Our senior students are now moving into preparation mode for their external exams, and the remaining weeks of term are valuable for getting feedback and taking stock of where they stand. Starting this preparation early, rather than delaying it, makes a real difference: it gives students time to address any gaps before the exams arrive, and tends to reduce rather than add to their stress as exams approach. I'd encourage all parents of Year 12 and 13 students to check in with their son or daughter about how their revision is going and how they are managing approaching deadlines for internal assessments.
Gate A drop-off protocols
On a different note, our security guards sometimes experience difficult interactions with a small minority of parents and other drivers who refuse to accept the College's student drop-off protocols at Gate A. Sadly, on some occasions, these interactions have escalated to disrespectful behaviour towards our guards.
Our security team continues to act professionally and courteously under these circumstances, and will keep applying the agreed access and drop-off protocols consistently. I ask that all members of our community extend courtesy and respect to our guards and other King's employees who are adhering to the agreed protocols.
