Headmaster's Update - 25 June 2026

Wednesday 24 June 2026

A remarkably busy couple of weeks at King’s has showcased a wonderful blend of tradition and innovation in full effect.

The King’s College vs Auckland Grammar School rugby fixture was my first taste of this iconic matchup, with congratulations going to Auckland Grammar on lifting the Cooper Greenbank Cup. The shared rivalry and deep connection between our two schools was evident across a number of events, with reunions sparking plenty of laughter and reminiscing. My sincere thanks to our students, parent community and the Old Collegians who came out in force to support our players.

We also celebrate our ski team, who won medals across multiple events and secured a clean sweep of team titles at the College Sport Ski Championships held at Snowplanet last week. Outstanding work!

ARTSWEEK 2026 has been a tremendous success, with students engaging in a wide variety of creative media. From vibrant House Art Battles using paint to students exploring masterpieces through immersive VR technology, there has truly been something on offer for everyone.

Our performing artists also remain incredibly busy. Two of our choirs have qualified for the Big Sing Cadenza competition, and many of our rock bands are taking the stage at the Tuning Fork tonight. We wish our drama students the absolute best of luck for the Senior production of Clue which will run over Tuesday and Wednesday nights next week.

During the upcoming term break, essential groundworks will take place in a section of the Hospital Road entrance car park. We will communicate directly with any affected students to safely direct them to alternative parts of the campus.

I wish you all an enjoyable school holiday, thank you for your ongoing support of the College.
