On Friday 30 January the King's College 1st XI took on an Old Collegians team in an annual battle for the Marshall Cup.

The match was followed by a well-supported Cricket Supporters Club Gala Dinner. Old Collegians, parents, staff, and supporters were treated to entertaining speeches and stories from guest speaker Shane Bond and Black Cap panellists Hamish Marshall (Selwyn,1996-97), James Marshall (Selwyn,1996-97), Dipak Patel, and Mohammed Abbas (Marsden, 2017-21). 

Old Collegian and current Black Cap Mohammed Abbas flew up from Wellington specifically for the dinner, and it was heartening to hear how his recent experiences both in and out of the classroom during his time at the College have helped shape him as an individual and enabled him to pursue his dream of becoming an international cricketer.
