Year 13 Career Management Seminars

Career Management Seminars cover a range of key career management concepts along with an overview of the year ahead. All the 'must know' information such as University Entrance, Guaranteed Entry scores, key dates for applications, career events, tertiary advice and course planning sessions is outlined, including how King’s Careers can support school leavers with career assessments, course information and decision-making. This year’s series of mandatory Career Management Seminars for Year 13 school leavers was completed in Week Three, Term 1.

Tertiary Options Evening & Centennial Centre Expo 2026

Thursday 14 May, 6-8.30pm

Designed to enhance senior student and parent knowledge of tertiary study and future work opportunities, the King’s Careers flagship event Tertiary Options Evening & Centennial Centre Expo will be held this year on Thursday 14 May, 6pm – 8.45pm on campus at King’s College.

Student Recruitment staff from all eight NZ universities, Polytechnics MIT Manukau and UNITEC, NZ Defence Force and NZ Police will deliver three concurrent presentations, grouped to reflect the themes of their flagship programmes, with a five-minute commute between sessions. Providers will also be set up upstairs in the Centennial Centre Expo style.

An invitation and programme will be emailed to parents and caregivers early in Term 2.

An Evening with Australian & Selected Universities 2026

Wednesday June 14 May, 6-8.30pm

Hosted in collaboration with nine other independent schools, this event is designed for Year 12 and 13 students and their families who are exploring tertiary study options across Australia and beyond. Pinehurst School will provide the venue in 2026. More information including an invitation and programme will be sent to parents and caregivers early in Term 2.

•    University of Canterbury: Rā Tōmene, Open Day – Friday 28 August 

•    Study at Victoria Day: Open Day Friday 21 August

•    Massey University: Open Days – 5 August, 30 July for International Virtual Open Day - to be confirmed, 5 August for Manawatū (Palmerston North) Open Day, 15 August for Ōtehā (Auckland) Open Day, 21 August for Pukeahu (Wellington) Open Day and 3 September for Distance Open Day
