On Sunday 15 June, four teams from King’s CrossFit headed to the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau to compete at the 2025 College Youth Games.
The College Youth Games now in its third year of competition, is an event that is unique to New Zealand, designed to celebrate and encourage students to participate in CrossFit, a form of functional fitness, while promoting healthy lifestyles and mental wellbeing, with a particular focus on teamwork and discipline.
After a very early start our students spent the day competing in teams of three, taking on four different workouts that challenged their strength, endurance, resilience overall fitness .In total there were 110 teams from across the country with varying levels of experience in the sport, which provided a very competitive environment and a fun day! Our students were amazing and representing the College with pride, tenacity and achieved some brilliant individual results in all their workouts.
A huge thank you to Mr Chong Luo and Mrs Catherine Lamb for all their hard work over a long day looking after our students (and for the baking). Also, to our small band of whaanau who came out to support our rangatahi - ngaa mihi kia koutou katoa.
Special mention to all the Team Captains who led their team by example.
