Despite Tuesday's cold weather, a team of King's students represented the College with pride at the Auckland Secondary Schools (AKSS) Road Race Running Championships. Taking place at Bruce Pulman Park in Takanini, Auckland, the event brought together student runners from across the region to compete in individual and team effort distance-running.
Congratulations to our Senior Girls, Junior Boys, and Senior Boys three-person teams who placed second, fourth, and fourth respectively.
Through bitterly cold weather and sharp winds, these young athletes ran incredibly well and attained the following remarkable results:
Junior Boys 4km Race: 89 starters
- Giacomo Wong (Year 9, St John's), 10th - 14.10
- Dhevaan Mehta (Year 9, School), 21st - 14.38
- Cooper Riley (Year 9, Peart), 50th - 15.54
Intermediate Boys 4km Race: 95 starters
- Jake Chapman (Year 10, School), 57th - 15.57
- Jackson Fawcet (Year 10, Major), 62nd - 16.14
Senior Girls 4km Race: 39 starters
- Charlie Fong (Year 11, Marion Bruce), 6th - 14.37
- Mila Fong (Year 11, Marion Bruce), 7th - 14.40
- Lucia Dawkins (Year 11, Taylor), 13th - 15.51
- Saffron Moaveni (Year 11, Marion Bruce), 16th - 16.10
- Alexis Tree (Year 12, Taylor), 17th - 16.17

Senior Boys 6km Race: 53 starters
- Sam Rickerby (Year 13, Peart), 3th - 19.14
- Jonty Batchelor (Year 12, Greenbank), 13th - 20.33
- Luca Henderson (Year 12, Major), 21st - 21.31
