Rowing Supporters Club

King’s College Rowing Club invites Old Collegians, current and past parents, loyal businesses, and rowing fans to join the new King’s College Rowing Supporters Club.

The Rowing Supporters Club aims to:

• Connect the past and present rowing community

• Fund new boats and equipment

• Ensure the sport’s long-term success at King’s College.

Rowing has a rich legacy at King’s, fostering teamwork, discipline, and dedication, key components of a well-rounded education. The club is proud of its rowers competing internationally, with three Old Collegians, Oliver Maclean (Selwyn, 2012–16), Daniel Williamson (Averill, 2016–17) and Alana Sherman (Taylor, 2015–16), competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Oliver Maclean won a silver medal in the Men’s Four event.

For our current students, the 2024–25 rowing season was the most successful ever, excelling at all regattas, including the Maadi Cup. Alongside 5 National Titles the team claimed the Star Trophy for overall champion school in New Zealand. This is a first for the College and it also marks the first time any Auckland school has won this prestigious trophy. King’s was also the top placed school at both the Auckland and North Island Secondary Schools regattas highlighting an exceptional season. These successes are a testament to Head of Rowing Mark Clemo, his coaching team, our rowers, and our dedicated supporters.

Joining the King’s College Rowing Supporter’s Club

The King’s College Rowing Club is launching a focused fundraising campaign to purchase new boats and equipment.

Due to reduced fundraising efforts during the pandemic years, it is crucial to start an ambitious campaign for the 2025–26 season and beyond, to meet our boat acquisition and replacement goals, and honour the legacy of past donors through the Rolf Porter Fund. We invite you to help to ensure that King’s College remains a leading rowing school for both girls and boys.

Our commitment to you:

We will:

• Ensure your membership directly funds equipment for our rowers.

• Welcome you to the lakeside and be with you to cheer on the teams.
