Congratulations to Jaime Taylor (Year 10, Marsden), who has won the Elizabeth Long Piano Scholarship. The scholarship was originally funded by a bequest made by Mrs Elizabeth Long to the Institute of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand (IRMTNZ) Auckland Branch in 1952. The IRMTNZ has continued to offer prize money in her name for a scholarship class, the requirements for which are a balanced programme of at least two and no more than three contrasting works from different musical periods. Jaime entered with a programme of three works: a Scarlatti Sonata, a Rachmaninov Prelude and the 3rd movement from a Kabalevsky Sonata.

Congratulations also go to Oliver Vannoort (Year 13, Marsden), who won the Outstanding Potential award in the Phillips Memorial Vocal Class.
