In a season where we’re all mindful of the spread of COVID-19 and the war in the Ukraine, Victoria Jagusch and Grace Foster have been inspired to offer some light and hope to the hardworking staff of Middlemore Hospital.

Assisted by our parent community who work at the hospital, Victoria and Grace have arranged for the young women of Marion Bruce House to provide baking for morning tea and its delivery, on Tuesday, 15 March. In a letter to the Acute Critical and Central Services, Victoria and Grace wrote,

“As neighbours of Middlemore Hospital, we are very conscious of the wonderful job all the staff at Middlemore are doing during these challenging times…not just the doctors and nurses but also your staff – the orderlies and cleaners – without whom the hospital would not function. As such, as part of our community service, the girls of Marion Bruce House are baking cookies and cupcakes… and would like to deliver them to you for your staff on Tuesday 15 March as a token of our appreciation for all they are doing for the community right now. This is just a small way we can say thank you to your staff.”

The response of Middlemore Hospital has been emphatically positive. This kind of kindness is being replicated throughout the school as students step forward with important initiatives to help our communities through troubled times.
