The Duke of Edinburgh Scheme is a well-established, internationally recognised qualification that requires competency across Adventure, Skill, Service and Physical activity.

Year 10 students are automatically entered for Bronze level, but it is up to them to ensure they get each strand signed off. Year 10 students are given the opportunity to complete all four strands of the award through the normal Year 10 school Activities.

Silver and Gold awards are optional and there is a small fee covering the cost. The Gold award also has a residential component. The Gold award is presented by the Governor General at Government House.

King’s College has engaged with the Duke of Edinburgh Award for many years and we regularly have a number of students reaching the pinnacle of the scheme, the Gold award.

Students starting at King’s College in Years 11 and 12 can have all their previous award activities transferred to the College.
