King’s riders feature prominently in TSB Hawkes Bay Tour

Stage 1 was an 8km individual time trial (ITT) in which Tom finished 2^nd only 2 seconds off first place with Oli 5^th a further 30 seconds back.

Stage 2 was a 58km road race over an undulating course with a bunch sprint to finish with Oli claiming 3^rd and Tom finishing in the same bunch in 6^th.

Stage 3 was another road race over 56km with Oli again claiming 3^rd and Tom finishing in the same bunch in 5^th.

The fourth and final stage was another road race over 60km with Tom making a big effort to get enough time on the rider holding first in the General Classification (GC) to take the title, but it wasn’t to be. Final placings on GC were, Tom 2^nd, Oli 4^th.

This represented a great effort on the part of the two King’s riders and they took vital points in the ongoing 10-race National Road Series, with the next race in the series the Tasman Tour over Auckland Anniversary weekend.
