Yesterday we had 22 girls across two teams playing in the Senior Touch Tournament. 

Girls Touch Teams

Considering these were their first competitive games for the season, there was a noticeable improvement throughout the day. We watched their understanding of the game grow and develop which also reflected through the closer scores later in the day. For those interested below are the results and some highlights:

A Team:

Game 1 v Hobsonville Pt A 7-1 L – try to Mikaela Hawley

Game 2 v St Cuths 6-1 L – try to Rubie Duder

Game 3 v Avondale 6-1 L – try to Frankie Macfarlene

Semis v Hobsonville Pt A  - 5-1 L – try to Mikaela Hawley

3v4 playoff v St Cuths 1-2 L – try to Mikaela Hawley

Overall finished 4th.

Highlights: improvement in driving, team work and communication throughout the day. Some stand out performances from Mikaela Hawley, Suzie Kennelly, Rubie Duder & Tiana Brown. Mikaela Hawley was awarded a prize for the most consistent across trainings and games on the day.

B Team:

Game 1 v St Doms 4-0 L

Game 2 v Hobsonville Pt B 3-2 W – tries to Jules Dingley (2) & Kara McLeay

Game 3 v McAuley 2-2 D – tries to Gemma Scott (3)

Semis v St Doms 3-0 L – unfortunately our only try by Gemma Scott was disallowed

3v4 playoff v Hobsonville Pt B 3-1 W – tries to Aajna Krishna, Ella McKay & Gemma Scott

Overall finished 3rd.

Highlights: Beautiful runaway tries by Kara McLeay & Aajna Krishna, Jules Dingley’s communication and performance on field plus stand out performance particularly from Gemma Scott. Gemma Scott was awarded a prize for the most consistent across trainings and games on the day. Aajna Krishna was also awarded a small prize for her 100% attendance at trainings.
