The girls squad, with direction from Crew Coaches Brendan Boreham and Ella Marr, performed well and displayed courage and enthusiasm in their preparation and racing. Their performances in this first regatta have now put them in good positioning for the rest of the season.
Off to a great start as well were the Girls novice team and Under 17s double sculls, with both crews coming second in their first races of the season.
The Boys novice team and boys Under 15s performed well, with this regatta also their first. Guided by Crew Coaches Henry Morrow and Sebastian Eggermont, the groups enjoyed their first taste of competitive rowing.
The Senior Boys squad, made up of eight athletes, showcased their many years of training with an excellent display of good rowing. This group won all Under 18s and Under 17s sculling events and earned three top placings in selected open club events.
“It was a fantastic day and I am looking forward to the rest of this season's racing,” says Peter Jansen.
