The annual Tertiary Studies Options Evening, held on Wednesday, 27 May from 6.00pm - 8.00pm, was a great success.

A good turnout of Year 12 and Year 13 students and parents attended their choice of three presentations from a range of 30 excellent options, grouped by degree themes and delivered by Student Recruitment staff from all the New Zealand universities including Auckland, AUT, Massey, Waikato, Otago, Canterbury, Victoria and Lincoln.

Unitec and MIT also presented their range of certificate to degree programmes, featuring applied qualifications and trades programmes, such as Marine Engineering & Nautical Science, Creative Enterprises, and Construction and Infrastructure.

Broadening interest was shown by students, especially in Lincoln’s land-based degrees and Waikato’s specialist programmes, such as Computer Science, Environmental Planning and the range of work placement internships.

Canterbury staff were delighted with the increasing numbers of prospective students, many of whom enjoyed Dean of Law Chris Gallivan’s entertaining and informative overview of studying a law degree.

A question time with presenters, to follow up on specific queries, wrapped up the evening.

All the Student Recruitment representatives will return to the College in Term Three for course planning sessions, to guide students in mapping out their individual courses of study.
