The girls became aware of this charity because a fellow student, Michael in Year 9, brings his mobility dog, Friend, to school everyday. This Trust does not get the attention and funding it deserves.
The breakfast for Taylor girls, their parents and staff was held in the Hellaby Dining Room. Guests enjoyed a continental breakfast with the most delicious smoothies. The guest speaker was Julie Gifkins, Michael’s mother. She talked about how helpful Friend is to Michael on a daily basis. She explained that it costs $50,000 to train just one Mobility Dog.
The breakfast was a great success, raising $635.00 for The Mobility Assistance Dogs Trust through breakfast and raffle tickets.
On behalf of the Committee, thank you to the parents, girls and staff who attended the breakfast, bought raffle tickets or donated to this worthy cause.
