The New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir is a 60-member choir with open auditions every two years, drawing its members from across the country. The auditions included intense aural tests, sight-reading and singing for the music director, Andrew Withington and chief vocal consultant, Rachel Alexander. Out of the 220 students that auditioned this year, three students from King’s College were offered places.
Denzel Panama, tenor I, Max Wilson, tenor II and Jonathan Ta, bass I, will attend week-long rehearsals in different parts of the country every school holidays. They will take part in a variety of performances over the next 18 months, culminating in an International tour.
